So, what's your favorite X-mas pasttime? Just killing time after our research presentation.
Can you guess who is almost ready for a break? That's right...Lisa, Katie, Hannah, Ashly, Anna P & Anna M!

I feel like the quote, "necessity is the mother of invention" can explain this picture the best. You see, when you put 6 nursing students together on a group project, each of which already have a previous degree...what you really get is 6 nursing students who are good at procrastination and thus wait until the day before the presentation to actually put their thoughts together. Thereby, we decide that our presentation would be better if we got a picture of Lisa scratching her head and looking quizzical for the "Any Questions" slide. Nice, huh? Haha.

"So if you care to find me, look to the western sky, as someone told me lately -- everyone deserves a chance to fly!"

Airplanes provide good time to reflect on life, and this 7am sunrise did just that for me. :)

Aren't they two cute little academics? I think so. The newlyweds on their way back to the IC to get some quality studying/prep in before finals. Good thing Cass got a bunch of cute new TA clothes to amp up lecture a little bit!

What's that you ask? Why that would be Miller High Life, or as it is better known, "The Champagne of Beers." In a somewhat sad little tradition in our family, when someone gets engaged they are toasted to with "the champagne of beers." The Griswald in us shines on! Congrats to Jessie and Aaron! :)

Nana and Nacho go for a walk...and almost fall on their butts multiple times! Holy freezing rain batman! Talk about your quad workout! :) Haha.

SNOW! My first snow sighting of the year -- flying into MSP. :)

On my way to work tonight the little gate to this graveyard was open, and people were walking around. Little did I know that it is where Edgar Allan Poe was buried! There were other famous Baltimoreans buried here as well, including Francis Scott Key. :) Kind of cool...and kind of creepy.

I mean, when I say things like, "You're going to regret taking the photo like that..." you would think that someone would listen, but apparently not. Anyway, Kevin got a life lesson in dying hair tonight -- and it went well! I think he was a little overpowered by the ammonia smell, and I was a little overpowered by his manhands "gently" putting the dye into my hair...but it turned out well overall!

I feel as though a lot of my posts have to do with coffee -- but coffee does get me through the day and so it probably deserves a shout out. :) Haha...this is cheap gas station coffee, from "Royal Farms" but it is pretty good, and they let you add as much creamer, milk, etc as you want, which is nice.

Haha! Susan's back had been hurting all day and so she asked Hannah if she would sit on her. Hannah was a little wary at first, but Susan was laughing the whole time, so I think she was ok. :)

Ugh. Bad day at school = amazing night at home. Ice cream, wine and "The Holiday" with Susan. Bonus -- we walked to the liquor store in our sweats.

I love Natty Boh. I love how ridiculously bad it is, and how old school all of their advertisements are. I found this one on the back of a building when I went for my run today. Fantastic.

The Christmas Cup is here! :) My favorite part about this is that I got this while walking home from the gym in shorts.

Bikers Beware! Baltimore has recently decided to make it known that it is bicycle friendly by adding these bike lanes all around downtown. Based on the way that Baltimorean's drive I won't be tempting fate anytime soon!

The first time that I have actually seen a picket line! I'm not sure what their reasoning is for the picket, but I do know that it is something to do with the new Carey School of Business that is being built in Harbor East.

Pretty red leaves. :) Maryland does have a wide variety in their colors of leaves, and red are my favorite.

This is the clinical program that I am taking part in on Nelson 8 at Hopkins. It is a pilot program, and I for one think that it should become the rule, not the exception. We are partnered one-to-one with a preceptor nurse rather than 6-8 of us being with a clinical faculty. I love it, and I am really enjoying this clinical experience because of it.

Mmm. Vegetarian Chili. :) I love any recipie that basically calls for canned items plus a few spices. My kind of cooking!

11.09.2010

11.09.10

Right? HAHA! I was enjoying a run this morning when I saw this bumper sticker and promptly ran back to my house, got my camera and took this picture before they drove away. Don't be fooled, they have Maryland plates, but they just must have strong feelings about pool ole' Custer.
Oh -- and HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD! The big 55!

Granted...the Panera coffee is only the "tall" size, but still...holy nursing books Batman! I am really, really happy that after this care plan there is only 1 (ONE!) more in my nursing career. My back appreciates this fact as well.

11.07.2010

11.07.10

Not much can make "Care Plan Sunday" better...except for this beautifulness that I spent the day admiring from my little perch at Panera. :) Breanna introduced me to the amazingness that is Qdoba, and for that I thank her!

Kevin all decked out in his Flacco jersey (who, in case you didn't know, or Kevin hasn't told you a million times -- graduated from the University of Delaware!) on Delaware's campus for Homecoming. We went to take in a "Fightin' Blue Hens" football game and toured the campus a little beforehand.

Homemade peanut butter cookies from Kevin! It was his first time making cookies from scratch and they are delicious! (Did you see the one that may have sampled before I got there?!)

The mug graveyard on Nelson 8 at Hopkins. It's important to keep nurses both caffeinated and hydrated!

11.03.2010

11.03.10

Look who's famous! Hannah submitted a comfort food recipie to Birches and it was selected as the comfort food of the week! :) I'm sure that it will be delicious!

I'm going to St. Croix for public health! :) WOOHOO! I am REALLY looking forward to being able to go to a new place and to do international nursing.

Monday was an exceptionally overwhelming day at school, and so Ashly, Hannah, Anna M and I decided to go to Life of Reilley to unwind after class. :) It was nice to talk about life and try to avoid talking about school for awhile.
