So...in order to ring in the new year, our family decided to have a competition to see who would be the fastest to correctly assemble these little lego cars. Andrew kicked everyone's butt -- but it was fun to watch the different "methods" that were utilized...let's just say that putting together legos may be a generational activity.

Who knew that 2 Buck Chuck came in white wines as well? This seriously made my day, even though it is really 3 Buck Chuck!

12.29.2010

12.29.10

The adorable little dolls that Erin made for Audrey. The arms and legs got a little involved, so they weren't included...but I honestly think that the dolls are just as cute without them. Good work E.

12.28.10

Woohoo! The finished product - and, it's only 10am so I "had" to go to the craft store and get some more fabric to work on two more projects. :)

12.27.2010

12.27.10

The start of my apron! It's reversible, so green on one side and pink on the other. Two days of straight crafting (keep in mind the last time I sewed was 8th grade Home Economics).

12.26.2010

12.26.10

North woods chic. And yes, I am wearing black, brown, navy blue, and two shades of gray together...in public. :)

12.25.2010

12.25.10

Merry Christmas in Norwegian! :) I hope that everyone has had a wonderful Christmas with their loved ones!

12.24.2010

12.24.10

Jessie made it to Christmas in PR! :) Merry Christmas from Nacho and Nana!

12.23.2010

12.23.10

My Mom and I went for a walk today, and she told me that I had little crystals forming on the end of my eyelashes -- so we got a picture. It it difficult to see -- but they were there nonetheless.

12.22.2010

12.22.10

Cassie made Julia Child's famous "Beef Bourguignon" for dinner. It was a three page recipie that was to take a total of about 5 hours to prepare. Instead, she made it in under 3 -- it was still delicious. Drew and Megan contributed the spinach, strawberry and feta salad...and I made the canned rolls (cooking doesn't seem to be my thing -- maybe someday). It was quite a tasty meal!

12.21.2010

12.21.10

Mom and Cassie making homemade lefse -- soooooo delicious! (They kind of resemble one another, huh?)

The view from our kitchen window -- a lovely little winter wonderland. The snow is coming down and we are in for 6-8 inches tonight.

12.19.2010

12.19.10

The most beautiful ornament ever created. Loving made by a 1st grader named Anna. It is both delicate in size and laminated for longevity.

12.18.2010

12.18.10

Kevin and his grams who was cooking dinner for us. He affectionately calls her "Little Italy" because of her stature and heritage. :)

Two popular Baltimore figures - Natty Boh and the Utz girl getting engaged.

12.16.2010

12.16.10

Snow in Baltimore! :) I am a little nervous that I won't be able to park on the street at work tonight -- here's hoping!

12.15.2010

12.15.10

Mom, Dad, Kevin and I toured Annapolis, MD for the day -- here is a picture of Kev and I in front of the Capitol Building.

12.14.2010

12.14.10

Kevin, Grams (Josie) and I out to dinner at the Peppermill (her favorite restaurant). She got to meet Mom and Dad and we had a nice time. She was covering up the hole in Kevin's jeans with her hand. Love it.

12.13.2010

12.13.10

Highlight of the day -- Mom making her purchase of her purse (spring collection) from her Vietnamese friend in Chinatown, NYC.

12.12.2010

12.12.10

Mom and Dad at the Carnegie Deli in NYC. :) They finally made it to New York and so we decided to start out with a small bit to eat -- ha!

12.11.2010

12.11.10

The set of "In the Heights!" :) My traveling buddies (Mom and Dad) are snowed in back in MN, and since I was already in NY I decided to see if I could take in a show. It didn't disappoint!

12.10.2010

12.10.10

Kevin matches my dresser -- ha! Date night tonight :)

12.09.2010

12.09.10

At 5am I found this particularly entertaining -- probably because this case was clearly stolen from somewhere...haha.

12.08.2010

12.08.10

Oh my goodness. The Mother/Baby Unit got some new decorations -- all with Raven's gear on! Happy Holidays!

12.07.2010

12.07.10

The new Children's Center, which will supposedly be open in 2011. Stay tuned.

12.06.2010

12.06.10

While walking home from my final today I noticed that downtown Baltimore appeared to be on fire. Once I got home we turned on the local news and found out that "the block"...i.e. the block of strip clubs in Baltimore is indeed on fire! Hopefully nobody was hurt -- although I guess I'm not all that sad that it is smoldering a little...

12.05.2010

12.05.10

Our first clinical group -- all reunited for a brunch at "Yellow Dog" in Canton. :) I love these ladies, and can't really imagine what nursing school would have been like without them.

12.04.2010

12.04.10

So, yes, we were quite a ways back in the chapel. However, it was still fantastic! It was the 64th annual production of "Handel's Messiah" by the Naval Academy Glee Choir. :) A wonderful way to ring in the holiday season.

12.03.2010

12.03.10

I really want a Christmas tree. A real one. I fully realize that this is impractical (and maybe in violation of my lease), but nonetheless I think that it would be wonderful to have one.

12.02.2010

12.02.10

My adult health clinical group from the CAPP program on Nelson 8 at JHH. From L-R. Anna P., Adam C., Sarah S., Sandy S., Tal R., Lisa S., and Jennilyn T. :) It was a great group, and a wonderful clinical experience!

12.01.2010

12.01.10

Merry Christmas from the School of Nursing! :) They put the tree up in time for us to enjoy it this year -- which was wonderful. The nurse angel ornaments may be just a tad creepy though...haha.

11.30.2010

11.30.10

So, what's your favorite X-mas pasttime? Just killing time after our research presentation.
Can you guess who is almost ready for a break? That's right...Lisa, Katie, Hannah, Ashly, Anna P & Anna M!

11.29.2010

11.29.10

I feel like the quote, "necessity is the mother of invention" can explain this picture the best. You see, when you put 6 nursing students together on a group project, each of which already have a previous degree...what you really get is 6 nursing students who are good at procrastination and thus wait until the day before the presentation to actually put their thoughts together. Thereby, we decide that our presentation would be better if we got a picture of Lisa scratching her head and looking quizzical for the "Any Questions" slide. Nice, huh? Haha.

11.28.2010

11.28.10

"So if you care to find me, look to the western sky, as someone told me lately -- everyone deserves a chance to fly!"

Airplanes provide good time to reflect on life, and this 7am sunrise did just that for me. :)

11.27.2010

11.27.10

Aren't they two cute little academics? I think so. The newlyweds on their way back to the IC to get some quality studying/prep in before finals. Good thing Cass got a bunch of cute new TA clothes to amp up lecture a little bit!

11.26.2010

11.26.10

Black.Friday.Indulgence.
Plain and Simple.

11.25.2010

11.25.10

What's that you ask? Why that would be Miller High Life, or as it is better known, "The Champagne of Beers." In a somewhat sad little tradition in our family, when someone gets engaged they are toasted to with "the champagne of beers." The Griswald in us shines on! Congrats to Jessie and Aaron! :)

11.24.2010

11.24.10

Nana and Nacho go for a walk...and almost fall on their butts multiple times! Holy freezing rain batman! Talk about your quad workout! :) Haha.

11.23.2010

11.23.10

SNOW! My first snow sighting of the year -- flying into MSP. :)

"He leadeth me beside the still waters; he restoreth my soul."

11.21.2010

11.21.10

On my way to work tonight the little gate to this graveyard was open, and people were walking around. Little did I know that it is where Edgar Allan Poe was buried! There were other famous Baltimoreans buried here as well, including Francis Scott Key. :) Kind of cool...and kind of creepy.

11.20.2010

11.20.10

I mean, when I say things like, "You're going to regret taking the photo like that..." you would think that someone would listen, but apparently not. Anyway, Kevin got a life lesson in dying hair tonight -- and it went well! I think he was a little overpowered by the ammonia smell, and I was a little overpowered by his manhands "gently" putting the dye into my hair...but it turned out well overall!

11.19.2010

11.19.10

I feel as though a lot of my posts have to do with coffee -- but coffee does get me through the day and so it probably deserves a shout out. :) Haha...this is cheap gas station coffee, from "Royal Farms" but it is pretty good, and they let you add as much creamer, milk, etc as you want, which is nice.

11.18.2010

11.18.10

Haha! Susan's back had been hurting all day and so she asked Hannah if she would sit on her. Hannah was a little wary at first, but Susan was laughing the whole time, so I think she was ok. :)

11.17.2010

11.17.10

Ugh. Bad day at school = amazing night at home. Ice cream, wine and "The Holiday" with Susan. Bonus -- we walked to the liquor store in our sweats.

11.16.2010

11.16.10

I love Natty Boh. I love how ridiculously bad it is, and how old school all of their advertisements are. I found this one on the back of a building when I went for my run today. Fantastic.

11.15.2010

11.15.10

The Christmas Cup is here! :) My favorite part about this is that I got this while walking home from the gym in shorts.

11.14.2010

11.14.10

Bikers Beware! Baltimore has recently decided to make it known that it is bicycle friendly by adding these bike lanes all around downtown. Based on the way that Baltimorean's drive I won't be tempting fate anytime soon!

11.13.2010

11.13.10

The first time that I have actually seen a picket line! I'm not sure what their reasoning is for the picket, but I do know that it is something to do with the new Carey School of Business that is being built in Harbor East.

11.12.2010

11.12.10

Pretty red leaves. :) Maryland does have a wide variety in their colors of leaves, and red are my favorite.
