Someone fell in love. S & R (or K...but I think R). It happened recently, and apparently they fell in love right outside of our house! (or at least that is where they decided to declare their love.) I already asked (S)usan, but she says she's clean...haha.

No seasonal flu at 2427 Foster Ave this year! Hannah, Susan and I all got immunized today -- let's just hope it works. Next up, H1N1.

So, here I was, just sitting watching a play at the Renaissance Festival when this gentleman sat down in front of me. My view was a little altered...

All together now. Pediatrics Care Plan. Ugh.

Worldly, simply worldly. AH once again introduced me to something new -- I never before knew that you could deposit a check at an ATM. Slightly ashamed because I like to think that I'm not the dumbest kid on the block. Even more ashamed because my father is a banker...

Pumpkins! :) I love the fall, and anything to do with it -- especially fun barrels full of pumpkins, can't go wrong there!

I am not sure what these trees are...but I am quite sure that as a child I would have been convinced that there were furry arms that were going to come and get me in my sleep. Now I just think they're kind of pretty -- and hinting at fall!

Any guesses on what that cart in the hallway is? Hint, prior to moving it said "departing now." It is a medications robot that takes medications around the hospital. It is quite the unit really, a medicine robot that will deliver things anywhere. It will move around you, take the elevator, and get to where it needs to go. Jetson's anyone?

What happens when you are almost out of gas? You find a new gas station! I don't know why I like this picture so much -- probably because to me it is what Baltimore is -- one giant juxtaposition. The new with the old, the clean with the dirty, and the safe with the unsafe.

What a woman. Seriously. You may not know it by looking at her, barefoot in the kitchen cooking for a dinner party of 7, but she had quite the last 24 hours. First she had clinical at Hopkins while the little "incident" was going on, then she spent the night at Hopkins trying to negotiate with a little one to make their entrance into the world before she had to leave at 7:00am (unfortunately the baby decided that 7:10 sounded nicer), and then she spent the day getting heights, weights, and blood pressures of preschoolers before coming home to start cooking! :) Thanks for being a great hostess Ash.

Whew! What a day at clinical! There was a shooter in the Johns Hopkins Hospital (not in the building that I was doing clinical in), but nonetheless it was an intense day. Here is most of my clinical group walking out of the hospital after we got the "all clear" from the hospital authorities...but you can see that the SWAT team vehicle is still positioned outside of the hospital. Crazy, crazy day.

Pretty? Well, maybe not. It wasn't until I moved to Balmer that I realized that this pretty glass was probably somebody's car window that had been smashed the night before.

"Just south of the Mason-Dixon line" :) A line in one of my favorite Lady Antebellum songs. Dad and I went to tour the Gettysburg battlefield today and passed the Mason-Dixon line along the way. It was a great father/daughter bonding day.

Last spring there was a house across the street from the School of Nursing that caught on fire. I hadn't ever gone to look at it, but today I parked close to the site and realized that you can see the sky through the roof. Nobody was injured which is the most important thing.

I walk past this elementary school on my way to school and I just love this quote. It is by Langston Hughes -- I love the words combined by the tiles created by some of the kids. Precious.

Whether or not I love city life is still to be decided. I feel like I am decidedly in-between. There are times when I would give anything to look out my window and see a field of corn, and other times when I can't quite imagine that quiet of a life again...time will tell...

Say it with me -- B.P.C. That's right, the Birches' Baked Potato Club. This was the weekly special, a baked potato covered in ground beef, lantana onions, and cheddar cheese perhaps? Basically, if you spend enough money and try enough different toppings then at the end of it all you can get a free t-shirt! Sounds just crazy enough to work...about 15 potatoes left to go...
